UTV signs three film deals with Lingusamy

India's leading production house UTV Motion Pictures has signed a three film deal with ace director Lingusamy recently. The studio will co-produce, market and distribute three films, Vettai, Vazhakku Enn 18/9 and Kumki, in association with the director?s own banner, Thirrupathy Brothers Film Media.

Vazhukku Enn 18/9 is written and directed by ace director Balaji Sakthivel (of Kadhal and Kalloori fame). Vazhakku Enn 18/9 is an out-and-out love story. According to the director, the film deals with how the concept of love has changed today, beginning with the so-called 'boyfriend-girlfriend' culture. The film, slated for a September 2011 release, has newcomers in the lead roles.

Next is the action packed entertainer Vettai, releasing in November 2011. Directed by Lingusamy, the film stars Arya, Madhavan, Sameera Reddy, Ashutosh Rana and Amala Paul. Yuvan Shankar Raja composes the music and Nirav Shah is the cinematographer.

UTV will also release Prabhu Solomon's Kumki. This film will be the launch vehicle for Vikram Prabhu, son of popular actor Prabhu and grandson of Sivaji Ganesan. Kumki is expected to grace theatres in early 2012.
