Simbu's Osthi (Dabangg remake) directed by Dharani is progressing briskly but the biggest question is: Who will be Kollywood's Munni (the 'Munni Badnaam...' item number performed by the sexy Malaika Khan in Hindi)? According to latest reports, the producers have approached Nayantara to do the item song but she politely refused. However, there are reports that sexy siren Shriya will do the racy number in the Tamil version.
Vosthi is directed by Dharani and produced by Mohan Apparao and T. Ramesh under Balaji Real Media banner. For the first time, Simbu will play the role of a cop on screen in Osthi. Richa Gangopadhya will play the role of Rancho (made memorable by Sonakshi Sinha in Hindi). Jithan Ramesh will play the role of Simbu's brother in the film, which was originally played by Arbaaz Khan. Revathi will appear as Simbu's mother, while Sonu Sood will reprise his original role in the Tamil version. Gopinath will handle the camera while Thaman will compose music.
