The Deiva Thiirumagal team has already begun its promotional campaign in Chennai.  The campaign began with the launch of Galatta Cinema July issue, which had an exclusive tete-a-tete with the Deiva Thiirumagal team for the cover story.

At a recent press meet in Chennai, UTV chief G. Dhananjayan assured that the film will be a milestone in the history of Tamil Cinema. "Vikram's acting is outstanding and he has really lived the character on screen. Deiva Thiirumagal is a complete entertainer and Santhanam's comedy will be one of the major highlights," he said.

In the film, Vikram plays the role of Krishna, who has a developmental disorder and is the father of a six-year-old child. The film tells the story of the relationship between a mentally challenged father and his six-year-old daughter.

Director Vijay thanked UTV for taking the film globally. "It's an very important film in my career. We were surprised to see some reports in media claiming that the film has no takers. GV's music is an important character in the film. Everybody has done a perfect job," he said.

"Amala Paul has done a matured role in this film; Santhanam will make you laugh and cry as well. Anushka has a strong and powerful role, she was just perfect for the role. Then there is Sarah, another important character in the film," he added.

The director also clarified that the film is not a remake of any Hollywood film, but revealed that he has taken inspiration from many films.
